The team here at AccessibilityOz would like to wish you a very happy holiday season! We hope your 2023 proves to be more accessible than your 2022 — that being said, we had some great accessibility moments and achievements this past year! We’re revisiting a few of our favorites:
Back in the U.S. …for the first time since 2019!
2022 marked the first year AccessibilityOz participated in in-person events in the U.S. since 2019! Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, AccessibilityOz has taken advantage of the many conferences and events offering virtual and hybrid participation, but nothing quite compares to in-person speaking and exhibiting. This year saw us exhibiting and presenting at M-Enabling in Washington, DC and Accessing Higher Ground in Denver, Colorado. Find us in Anaheim, California in March 2023 for the annual CSUN Assistive Technology Conference!
Accessibility Basics, now in webinar form!
AccessibilityOz CEO Gian Wild turned her popular Accessibility Basics training session into a 1-hour webinar. This webinar is free to view and absolutely packed with valuable information about online accessibility and its importance. Not in the mood to watch a webinar? Check out the accompanying 2-part Accessibility Basics article series.
AccessibilityOz introduced a new webinar series: A11yVoices
This year, we started Accessibility Voices (or A11yVoices), a webinar series where our CEO Gian sits down (virtually) in one-on-one interviews with some of the most knowledgeable and influential specialists in the digital accessibility field. In 2022, we spoke with VMware’s Sheri Bryne-Haber, manager of the University of Washington’s IT Accessibility Team Terrill Thompson, Iberia’s head of accessibility (and former AccessibilityOz staff member) Ricardo García Bahamonde and Accessibility Track Consulting’s Chris Law.
We’re looking forward to more episodes in 2023!
What we wrote about this year:
Up next? Mobile Accessibility Testing Workshops!
Join our virtual half-day workshop on Mobile Site and Native App Accessibility Testing on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 12:30PM ET to 4:30PM ET.
Can’t make it? We’re also running this as a pre-conference, in-person workshop at CSUN in in March, along with her Social Media and Accessibility presentation (which will be live-streamed). Hope to see you there!
